Damn right glam rock matters. David Bowie in his Ziggy era got me hooked on ‘hard rock’. Along with Iggy Popp and New York Dolls. Before that it was listening to my older brothers 60’s psychedelic music and after glam rock, punk rock kicked in. Good times.

If you like Bowie and have the ability to see this show, DO IT. I’ll be going for my second time, with my brother, in a few weeks.

It is… Incredible.

And this time, I’m going to buy the dang exhibit catalog. I was too dumbfounded to make rational decisions in the gift shop, last time. I was like, “What could a book do, compared to having experienced this in person?” Obviously now I realize, of course I want the damn book!

Yeah, ever since that article about Bowie deflowering a 14 year old in the 70s, I just can’t get into this fawning tribute cycle that we’re doing with all the recently deceased musicians (looking at you too, Prince). It’s one thing to divorce the artist from the art, but does anyone seriously think it was a one time thing, or excusable due to the times?
