Probably a reference to Sam Raimi’s Spider-man 3, which was widely panned, and considered a bust… the last Tobey MacGuire Spider-man movie…

That make some sense. Never saw it.
Me neither (although I’m a huge fan of Raimi), but I heard it was…not great.
