…
My favorite American movie sighting of Max.
He had a good life, I hope. I certainly enjoyed his movies.
“This will begin to make things right. I’ve traveled too far and seen too much to ignore the despair in the galaxy.”
Amazing scene, it’s the most powerful of the whole film and it’s little more than a 4-minute cameo.
My personal favorite.
Despite all better judgement, I must admit I like this duke.
You beat me to it. “Two or three years ago it was just another snake cult…” is a favourite quote of mine; all the better for being delivered in his rich and emotive voice. I can’t remember seeing him turn in anything less than a sterling performance.
What a fantastic cast.
P.S. Good grief, I am older than Von Sydow was when he appeared in Three Days…. Or The Exorcist for that matter.
“I salute you.”
For a Sydow/Bergman deep cut-Hour of the Wolf.
The closest Ingmar came to making a horror film. Very much of the “is it all in his head” sort of thing.
He finally lost the chess match.
