McDonald's goes after Starbucks with new CosMc's coffeeshop

I wonder how many artists the AI that generated those images stole from.

Dunkies gave up on their donuts long ago. Their donuts are garbage now, when they can even be arsed to have any.

I…don’t hate their donuts. Just their breakfast sandwiches and those godawful hash brown nugget things.

One bad food company going after another bad food company.

I’m still amused that Starbucks failed in Australia, but disappointed that McDonalds succeeded.

If this manages to take off, imagine how much more land McDonald’s is going to own in the US and dick over franchisees with. Here’s to hoping that introducing a new brand in this way is just too confusing to the common customer to work.

This isn’t far from me. I may swing by this weekend for a looksee.

I know the article is satire. Nevertheless it is my considered opinion that the product described in it would actually do good business in Britain, especially in England.

When I still lived in Germany, I went to Starbucks a lot, because they are the only place that offer filter coffee as their primary black coffee option.

The other places you would get a coffee, if you don’t want to go the full café route, are bakeries, and they all use those integrated espresso machines that will give you an americano if you ask for a basic black coffee. Pretty poor show for the country that invented the coffee filter.

Now that I live in a place where filter coffee is still the norm in bakeries and coffee shops, I never set foot in a Starbucks.

Yeah, take pictures especially if you see any robot alien surfers…

Some of us don’t particularly love coffee, as in a cup of regular black drip. But I do love coffee flavor in my chocolate milk with whip topping and caramel drizzle…

Coffee seems a lot like alcohol. Sure there are those people who enjoy a nice whiskey, but I’m betting most places sell a whole lot more cocktails.

He’s not making it up out of some flight of fancy, CosMc was a real McDonaldland mascot that appeared in several commercials in the 1980s:

Frankly, that’s the most mind-blowing thing about this whole story. Looking at the comments here, I seem to be the only person who remembers this guy ever existed (and he was only around briefly). Modern day McDonald’s treats Ronald McDonald like he never existed, now they’re bringing out the references to this guy??

For real success, they need to come up with a friendly mascot that isn’t creepy at all. Maybe they could revive an old, discarded one?

This is my reaction whenever I try to make tea with a system that has primarily been used to produce coffee. All I want is hot water with which to make a good cup of tea.

Yeah, I had zero recollection of that character!
Seeing the image does jog the memory a bit, though.
I’ve seen that guy somewhere before.

I have zero recollection of that character. It’s almost a reverse Mandela Effect.

Along with the milkshake-like drinks, this makes me think the new concept is aimed at kids. Which is weird for a coffee place (unless they’re trying to get children hooked on caffeine early…ohh, I get it now!)

The kids whine to go there, the parents also get a drink.

So… regular McDonald’s?

Why are some of them exploding?

Can’t be healthy
