Humanity is entering an exciting new era where the last natural problems have been all but resolved, and instead all our main problems are caused by selfishness. I’m not sure if it has a name…does “late stage capitalism” still work?

Had that screeching rag not amplified the Andrew Wakefield Lancet study (long since debunked and him removed as a doctor in the UK), it would never have been known beyond a small community of practitioners who very quickly raised concerns about its methodology, results and the motivations of the author. The MMR vaccination would have remained a routine, safe part of childhood preventative medication.
Once it shrieked its ignorance for day after day, the myth spread like wildfire (or rather like measles amongst an unvaccinated population) on both sides of the Atlantic; put down roots and is now apparently impossible to eliminate even though it has no factual basis.
Neither the Mail, nor any of their irresponsible ‘journalists’ have ever apologised or faced consequences for their actions.

I knew that prior to that legislation two communities with terrible vaccination rates of elementary school children were the very tony Mill Valley and Santa Monica, CA.
What’s worse, these supposedly progressive wellness woo adherents had the money to travel. Some of them effectively gave their unvaccinated kids Grand Tours of “exotic” countries where the diseases haven’t been eradicated, bringing measles back as souvenirs to share with their classmates.
