Never been called anecdotal before. A dote more times than I can count.
Homeboy has a hell of a lot more acquaintances than I do.
The same way we somehow manage to pay for the most expensive military in the history of the world?
Well, there is the great amurcan freedom to buy a really cheap insurance policy as a young idiot, and then complain when it doesn’t cover squat after being run over by a bus.
True story: the only insurance I could afford when I was working at AMC (the theater company, not the car maker) was the plan offered by the company. It said they covered prescription medications. With a 100% co-pay.
Two guesses who got stuck with that 100%, and the first one doesn’t count.
(I have poor impulse control with some topics)
If we allow taxpayer-funded fire departments to put out any burning building in the city then it will disincentivize people from working and become dependent on the government for everything. Instead, we should go back to the system where they let your home burn down unless you paid a monthly fee to have a placard from one of the local private fire companies placed on the building.
(Please disregard anyone who suggests that this system provided worse outcomes for everyone since fires were often allowed to burn until the situation got out of hand; those people are dirty communists.)
I think there is a certain amount of value just in teaching kids to brush properly and floss and have regular checkups, which if made habits as kids would continue throughout life and save money in the long run. But again, there’s that long-term thinking that is so rare in the US and absent from powerful interests.
The profit margin on a pound of cure is much higher than on an ounce of prevention.
Yeah. I’m going to have to call that more “walking his remarks to the side” then “walking them back”.
There’s gonna be a special tax bracket just for you, and you’re gonna pay for all those horrid, sickly poors. With the sweat from your brow
Obviously, with a reasonable and fair method of taxation and reining in the ridiculous, rapaciously venal system that is currently in place. Like other, grownup countries do. How the hell do you think?
Ah, another nopology.
Rep. Larry Bucshon, R-Indiana, later said on “CNN Newsroom” that Chaffetz’s comments were “unwarranted at this time.”
“We don’t want people to make choices in their life having to choose health care and leaving out other parts of their life that everyone else enjoys,” Bucshon said.
“Unwarranted at this time?” What the hell does that mean?
And since when are smartphones necessarily “enjoyed?” Doesn’t he mean “need?” for fuck’s sake? In today’s society it’s almost impossible to live without being online. And I bet a lot of these people either don’t have computers or find them incomprehensible compared to the simplified apps on phones.
You’re enjoying that oxygen you’re breathing, I see.
Stop being afraid of taxes and pay some.
It ain’t laughing gas . . . .
That would be double the pleasure and therefore double the indemnity.
If you are alive then you’ve got the motivation to pay up. There’s always the alternative.
It’s so fucking evil!
If I am irresponsible enough to actually require medical care
Irresponsible enough? Are you saying that the only reason people require medical care is because they’re irresponsible?
98% of “poor” people have roofs and walls! 99% have electricity! 89% have a chair!
Poor? Nice try, stereotypical-poor-person’s-name.
