A very good tomato is something with few equals, not at all surprised that an italian variety is best for cooking…

Can confirm. A fine varietel for growing and munching.

I used to not think about tomatoes too hard, but in the last few years have grown to appreciate quality tomatoes and actively avoid eating bad ones. I’ve also adopted the idea that a BLT is in fact just a tomato sandwich with added bacon… which ultimately stands to reason given how much I enjoyed lettuce and tomato sandwiches as a child. (I can attribute my desire for these to once being served a club sandwich and my grandmother doing her best to appease me without going so far as to have turkey or bacon on hand)

“. . . soon you will devoured.”

My mum would sing to us:

“Only two things that money can’t buy,
And that’s true love and homegrown tomatoes.”
