Thanks for the info - but also serious question - why can’t they just Mr T it into the country? That doesn’t look like that much gold. Just cast it into a giant cross or other ornatment and hang it on a fake gold chain, and be like “I am just living large, bro.”

Then take it to your contact to sell. Casting a simple, low quality cross I wouldn’t raise the price too much, I would think.

Miners in the Yukon are happy to get $50 (1 gram) per cubic meter of gravel mined. At a minimum of 1000 wigs per cubic meter, mining for gold in wigs in India has a 350,000 times higher yield than high grade ore in the Yukon.

Time to steal a sled dog and head to India!

Why yes officer, my shit is made of gold. It might not smell like roses, but hey!

Even if it was necessary to keep it out of sight; it seems like there are a lot of completely banal travel items that have internal metal parts that nobody remarks on; and it doesn’t look like these guys are dealing with enough gold that the fact that gold is denser than any decent metal has any business being would become evident.

If I were feeling particularly lazy, I’d cast my eye in the direction of all the stuff that uses metal tubes as structural elements(common in rigid luggage, retractable handles, etc.) and just cast it into there.
