Miley Cyrus makes 'Santa Baby' feminist: 'A girl's best friend is equal pay'

So I looked up the lyrics to ‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’, and they’re worse than I remembered. I’m perhaps slightly too old to be a millennial, but I’m sure every generation will be using subtext: it’s a way to reduce the stakes and allow everyone to save face if the answer isn’t as expected. But “What’s the sense in hurting my pride” and “How can you do this thing to me”? That’s not reducing the stakes. So while yeah I can see how I misunderstood some of the song, I’m now thinking the song didn’t just age poorly but was creepy to begin with.
