Millennial Hoarders

There’s a store not far from here that sells nothing but vintage magazines. Some of them are surprisingly valuable, if the asking prices are based in anything like reality.

I’ve been stymied by this conversation more than once:

“Wow, Only 40 Euro, for an entire years worth of issues?. That’s quite the deal. How much for shipping?”
“I can ship for 50 Euro.”
“Umm, Okay. Hope you find another buyer.”

and “The Magazine’s” asking prices are a little beyond what I can afford.

Oh god they’re so heavy.

Do they not have media mail in Euro zone?

I’m not getting rid of my books, but I have stopped buying anything except graphic novels in dead-tree.

(PS can we start making whatever generation comes after the millennials the target of “those darn kids” rant now please? Some of us are just reaching our late thirties and would like to be able to look down on someone)

Breaking Bad, I assume.

I read The New Yorker via Texture: I’m up to mid-October 2016. I’d be farther along if there weren’t so many other magazines in there.

You know there’s most likely a thriving online community dedicated to just that by now, right? Probably at least one forum thread about a wedding between two site members and everything.

And that games not played figure is misleading as I at one point used Idle Master to auto install and idle games I’d never actually play in the background just to farm the associated Trading Cards.

One of my friends is even worse.

The partner I live with is a librarian. Our mutual partner is a para-professions (so, librarian to most people). We’re planning on getting a house together in a few years. I think we’ll need a full size moving van just for all the books. (And wow, I do mean all the books!)

I have put a lot of time into an idle game cause I find horribly addicting for some stupid reason…

This makes me feel much better about my time spent playing civ, thanks!

A lot of my games wre purchased as part of a package deal. I got addicted to Civ IV: Colonisation at one point. Civ IV Warlords? Never played it it. Original Civ IV? Not really my cup of tea.

I literally only signed up for Steam so I could play Civ V. Never played IV or its iterations. Am interested in VI but at present I lack a capable computer.
