Meanwhile the rest of us in the Western world look on, scratching our heads.
âAre there no prisons?â
âPlenty of prisonsâŚâ
âAnd the Union workhouses.â demanded Scrooge. âAre they still in operation?â
âBoth very busy, sirâŚâ
âThose who are badly off must go there.â
âMany canât go there; and many would rather die.â
âIf they would rather die,â said Scrooge, âthey had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.â
Alternatively, what was that charming line from Ron Paul about âchurches and bake salesâ ? I canât seem to find it.
Donât worry, Iâm sure we in the UK managed to shift considerably nearer to a similar situation thanks to last Thursdayâs farragoâŚ
Many of those same forces are international and coming for you too.
Look at all the persons congratulating how UK on their ânewfound freedomâ. They canât wait to share so very much âfreedomâ with the rest of the world. And plenty of persons in your country, wherever it may lie are excited to vote in favor of whatever is promised to them.
Sorry
Itâs probably his kink.
Golly, what a god, Guns, and grits kinda guy.
Thatâs not what a big red bus I saw on TV told me
Close, he told the cheering crowd that society should let the uninsured man die. Maybe bake sales were mentioned by him or some other monster.
My country is Canada, and youâre not exactly wrong about those forces, but the difference, I think, is how healthcare is perceived. It is an ingrained part of the culture here that access to healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Not even our old Conservative government dared to be seen as going against this, and Bernie Sandersâ healthcare proposals would not have looked out of place in their platform.
State Rep. Jeffrey Guice [R-Ocean Springs]
We have an âTEAGOP asshole of the minuteâ award for you, Sir.
Such a good âChristianâ he isâŚ
Well, it turns out that it wasnât a promise after all, as various Brexiters have been at pains to point out from Friday onward and weâve plunged into the biggest political crisis for over 50 years thanks to the (to put it horribly bluntly) ignorance of the electorate, that paradoxically weâre now bound to follow regardless and disingenuous PR relying on exploitable, predictable human nature has got nothing to do with it, donât we feel foolish, no massive ramifications though, and Iâm sure our stoicism will sort it all outâŚ
Asshole aside, thereâs another issue here. There is no generic insulin. Itâs my job to know, but I still donât know why.
One Third of Privileged White Mississippians are Assholes, study concludes

Excellent point! Apparently manufacturers use ânew technologyâ to get around patents.
Tried to get at the source, but itâs paywalled.
âSuffer the little children⌠I mean, the little children should suffer.â
No, but you can qualify for health care and a lot of other nice benefits if youâre a state representative whose job it is to make sure taxpayer money isnât being wasted.
Yea the NEJM doesnât want to be read by riff-raff.
Damn. Just tried searching for that on my local libraryâs academic search. It comes up but the full text isnât available.
The freaking NEJM isnât considered important enough for Sno-Isle libraries to consider buying access.
That study better not have any government funding.
MY TAXES though. God hates them and collectivists!
