Mmm... Japhroaig's ruminations on Love, Happiness, and Musk

Maybe it was in the book? Not everything in the book was online… but I don’t remember this one… weird.

I found a link to her site for that page, but it 404s. So it was there and isn’t now.

Maybe fodder for book two?

My Dad taught me to ride and it wasn’t traumatic, just slow. Being chased down the road by a neighbours dog soon after learning to ride was definitely traumatising … :frowning:

Mine wasn’t traumatic, but surprising. Training wheels, as you do. But one day they got bent and I didn’t realize it–they didn’t touch the ground. Rode fine.

Took me a few days after I realized to get the courage to do it again.

It wasn’t traumatic exactly, but I think it might have been better if my father hadn’t taught me to ride a bike on a gravel road.

This is pretty much what happened to me, only looking back I’m pretty sure my dad bent them. It was his parenting style to trick you into doing something he already knew you could do.

Yeah riding on gravel is not fun even when you know what you are doing.

I have my suspicions as well
