More deaths now in U.S. from coronavirus than 9/11 terror attacks

It’s the hypocrisy that irks me most.

If 3,000 extra deaths warranted the kind of world-changing government actions that Giuliani still claims were justified by the 9/11 attacks then it’s pretty fucking insane to argue that a pandemic likely to kill many, many times more Americans is something we need to “keep in perspective.”

I agree. Hypocrisy grinds my gears.

Which ones do you find dubious? Did you google any of them?

CDC says One person dies every 37 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular disease., so that number I right.

2.800.000 people die in the US per year, that makes 7500 per day.

The other numbers look correct, too.

When you look at deaths of US citizens on 9/11 that is true. When you look at deaths caused by the US because of 9/11, that is another thing.

I would not rule out that wars might happen because of the fallout of coronavirus.

Makes for a great headline though doesn’t it

Friendly reminder that we’re in Hell, and the people complaining that the Feds are just trying to restrict their freedoms also will still “Never Forget!” 9/11, the response to which did in fact take a bunch of freedoms.
