I think it’s silly that in various religious faiths…
- women aren’t allowed to be priests;
- gay couples aren’t allowed to marry;
- unmarried people (any sexuality) aren’t allowed to be sexually active;
- parents are encouraged to beat their children into submission;
- non-Mormons are baptized without knowledge or consent (theirs or their family’s) into the Mormon faith after death.
And I’m pretty upset that these silly beliefs affect all the rest of us whether we like it or not.

How are you affected? Is it your desire to be a Priest of a religion which you don’t believe in? Will you care if someone imagines they are baptizing you when you’re dead? Do you imagine that parents beating their children can’t be addressed by civil law or that the rules of some religion are constraining you from having sex?

Well, that’s one of the big issues there. The Jewish ethnicity, culture, and religion are so closely intertwined that it’s really hard to say anything about one without involving the other- Which gets particularly sticky when it comes to their homeland, since you’d be hard pressed to find an Israeli that isn’t both Jewish (religion) and Jewish (race).

It’s not a mere numbers game when it comes to satire punching down else satirists wouldn’t be able to punch at the 1% that holds sway over the world by virtue of being stinking rich.
The LDS were one of the primary forces behind the passage of Prop 8 in California in 2008. LDS members contributed $20 million to the campaign and almost half of all donations from outside of California came from Utah residents. They clearly have the bank and will necessary to have a disproportionate and damaging effect in politics.
Whether or not this brings their underwear into play, eh. I think their underwear brings their underwear into play but then I find it endlessly amusing that an evangelical protestant sect of Christianity* would put masonic symbols on their underwear.
If someone started a brand new sect of Christianity that believed in orgies every second Wednesday and wore Om hats for ritual purposes, I’d be equally inclined to mocking them for the hats.
*I know most non-Mormon Evangelical Protestants would … protest but I used to be a non-Mormon Evangelical Protestant and I think my argument is better. Though not germaine to this thread.

I know it’s a strange concept, but I have friends…and a sense of decency and justice.
Oh, and parents beating their children is codified into law in this country. Because religious belief trumps civil law. You know, because the Constitution is based on the laws of Moses or something like that.

Yes, it is strange how you apparently want to constrain people from believing what they voluntarily choose to believe and affiliating with those who they chose to affiliate with. It is almost as if you believe that you are their parent and they are children.

To be fair, the 20th century Nazi genocide is mostly what was normal for diaspora dwelling Jews for about 3000 years, certainly once the Roman empire invented modern Christianity with its antisemetic supercessionist canon texts. The 20th century Nazis were just the first to use modern industrial methods to finally solve the world’s Jew problem.

Joseph Smith’s writings on these garments refer to their spiritual and procreative powers which increases the faithful;i.e.; ‘fruitful and multiply Mormons’. I can only giggle at the gold page plate this was writte on! Not!
