MRI machine fires man's gun at hospital, killing him

I was thinking that probably dropping the weapon on the floor would probably have a good chance of making it go off if the MRI could do it, but that would be a largely uneducated opinion.

Anyway, plenty of lovely photo galleries out there. Did you know tattoos can apparently cause burns…?

Or the even more hypothetical “absent entirely”.

It’s worse though. Dude might have a legit reason to be packing heat in a hospital.

What blows my mind, and negates all my sympathy for this idiot, is that weapon had a bullet in the chamber, the safety was off, and the hammer was in the “make bullet go bang” position.

At least he won’t make this mistake again, and the world is better off without him.

I am absolutely fascinated to hear what reason that could possibly be.

The police of the state of São Paulo released a document that analyzed the scenario found in the MRI room and the accident that killed Mr. Leandro Novaes. According to police experts, Mr Novaes was negligent when he entered the room armed. The police is awaiting the result of the lawyer’s autopsy and hope to question the victim’s brother and clinic staff soon to close the investigation.

One of the only things that keeps my distaste for guns and gun culture in the US from turning into overwhelming dread is the fact that the most devout seem to be removing themselves from the picture at an increasing rate. I’m having a hard time seeing the tragedy in that.
