Nail-biting video of frightened fellow paragliding, now with subtitled terror

He was in all likelihood given a ‘safety talk’ briefing before takeoff. With any risk-taking endeavour of this kind, there are some very simple, yet absolutely critical do’s and don’ts. The panic-stricken client is the worst case scenario; they have allowed the fear to take hold to such a degree such that they risk not only their life but the lives of others. There are very few sayings that ring as resoundingly true as “there is nothing to fear but fear itself.”

And so, it looks like the stupid copyright claims have taken this one down.

There are a few other videos of the same incident that have not yet been taken down, but it’s a question of time - and they don’t have the subtitles, which make half the fun.

Please someone here tell me that you’ve saved the video with subtitles somewhere else, and it’s still available…

No, pilot’s just being a bit of a duck, there’s no way to break anything on a tandem rig just by grabbing/touching it. Even if you somehow managed to open a 'biner, you wouldn’t fall out so long as it was weighted. But there have been a few deaths and some close calls from tandem hang-gliders taking off without their passenger clipped in, because the pilot didn’t bother to do his preflight check.
