I’m going to reiterate what I wrote elsewhere, that the Unification War could stand a retelling where the Browncoats were, well, the sort of people who were happy to carry on polluting and exploiting in much the same way that ruined Earth That Was. Maybe the Core Worlds weren’t more researchresource rich, but simply better at managing them. That the reason you don’t see tales of the Core Worlds is because Utopia is boring.

Hopefully more Asian characters will be included in the comic, a huge, huge discrepancy of the TV show - considering how much Asian culture material is utilized as part of the cultural mishmash of the setting.
