I recently listened to a BBC podcast of “In Our Time” about crocodiles and it was very interesting.
It turns out they’re older than dinosaurs and have taken up many ecological niches over the years, including various herbivorous species.
There have also been long-legged species with hooves, which is terrifying.
Random Crocodile, just going about its business: “Welp, might as well eat that snack over there!”
