Hey man, you sound disappointed in Ortega. Does that -really- tell you anything about how “we” are and if “any” good is possible? Isn’t this between YOU and HIM? Leave ‘us’ out of it maybe?

Maybe you were just incorrect? Or changed your mind? Does it HAVE to be anyone but you who is responsible for how you feel and what you think?

It would help if people stopped having that craving for Capital Letter Stuff, like The Revolution or The People, as religious symbols that give you free license to support whatever atrocity comes from The Defenders of said symbols.

When you think in terms of The People instead of people, well, killing hundred of people that are protesting is Good. Hey, they may be people, but they obviously arent The People, because The People are with The Revolution. When The Revolution just delivers pain, poverty and suffering, well, it doesnt matter because The Revolution is the only way to have a Future for the People so you have to defend it.

Better to focus on actual people, actual present problems and actual solutions to those problems, and have the humility to accept that, apart from the possibility of you being wrong, there is the possibility that people dont understand or want what you are telling them, and they have the right to be wrong, and it is your problem to find a way to win their support.

I think it’s worth splitting hairs to differentiate between Lenin putting the fix in for himself and his buddies, and others following his template of using “for the people” instead of “given by divine right” to justify their oligarchy.
