Nigel "Brexit" Farage, having tanked the UK economy, retires to "get his life back"

Completely without irony, he employed his German immigrant wife as his PA (British Jobs for British Workers was catchphrase of his) stating than no-one in the UK was up to the job.

Nigel Farage: no Briton could work as hard as my German wife
The Ukip leader says no British person would be able to be his secretary and work as hard as his German wife as he defends having her on the payroll

To be fair it would be UK’s GDP chart we ought to be looking at. GBP/USD chart does not represent UK economy. We’d have to wait 3 months minimal though…

Signs that UK economy will be bad: Lower new housing construction(a component of GDP), central bank comments on avoiding technical recession by lowering rates even lower than during the 2008 GFC, payrolls, domestic consumption, employment numbers, etc,.

Seems every cloud does have a silver lining. Brexit scored a hat trick of getting rid of Cameron, Boris and now Farage. Shame about the country but can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, or something like that? I suppose I’ll stay out another decade or so. My wife joked about us not going back until she’s sixty five so she doesn’t have to pay back her student loan, but with the way the pound’s falling the total sum might not be much more than the price of a pint in Singapore pretty soon.

I know! Look when ‘Some Men just want to watch the world burn’ this guy is coming up short. Sure burning down england economically is horrible, but the british empire never was the whole world and is much diminished from it’s heyday even now.

Dude needs to keep going, there’s plenty more planet and humanity spcifically to torment. GET UP YA BLOODY WANKER! YA CANNA QUIT NOW!

I won’t believe they’re gone until I see their death certificates. Boris especially is planning a comeback, mark my words.

Is he entitled to free state bodyguards for life?

It’s his side that kills politicians, not his opponents. Wish I was joking.

Farage and his ilk are scrambling because they assumed A) the “stay” vote would win, allowing them future political leverage, and B) they likely “bet” accordingly in the stock and forex markets.

Now they’ve lost political credibility, especially as the next two years will be a death by a 1000 cuts, and probably lost millions on expecting the markets and pound to go up rather than lose a significant percentage over the news.

Farage is not similar to Powell.
Farage left school at 16 and seems from his public announcements to have a permanent chip on his shoulder about people with further education (his address to the EP in which he said none of them had ever had proper jobs was a case in point.) Powell was an academic who thought that his education and military experience made him superior to other people, especially hoi polloi. Powell was probably repressed gay and showed several symptoms of having OCD, such as a refusal to shake hands with people and an attitude to scholarship which was described by one of his pupils as “textual mania”.

They are only similar in that they seem to enjoy/have enjoyed sociopathic wrecking. Let’s get Godwin over and say that if Farage were to be described as mini-Hitler, Powell on the same scale would have been mini-Rosenberg.

He’s right. No-one who knew him would bend over for such a fool …
… wait that isn’t true - the whole UK did (or at least half of it).

Nearly 28% of people registered to vote didn’t do so for whatever reason, so it’s nowhere near half of the UK, and the current increase of visible fascism in the UK does not deserve a smiley EVER! I’ve already been chased out of one home by those bastards, I have no desire for it to happen again.

You know the UK is sinking when the rats scuttle off the ship.

I hope all UK citizens recognize this man on the street, because he deserves their choice words (and any spittle that might “accidentally” accompany them).

The back half?

I feel like at least half of the UK got something they didn’t deserve.

If you consider how much lying Farage and his ilk did to ignorant pensioners, more than half

Let’s not forget that they were told the truth, too. They chose the lie.

Mr Farage announced his decision to stand aside in a speech in London, saying: “I want my life back, and it begins right now.”

I bet Jo Cox’s family are thinking something similar

I’m thinking of an old person for whom the NHS is crucially important.

The Brexiteers targeted her with their message.

I’m not sure the remain campaign ever sent a message her way

fair enough, but everyone’s buying power just dropped by ~13%, so it seems like a pretty good measure to me.

Oh they did.

But the nuance about the value of the single market, that EU nationals in the UK contribute more to the (NHS) budget than they take out and work in large numbers for the NHS and the care sector directly, stood no chance against outlandish, barefaced, coach-sized, Trumpesque lies

Just like Trump, they’re just “making suggestions”.

More bullshit than lie
