At least we might get some lovely auroras out of it?
Peak voltages in the US midwest are approaching 5 V/km. For reference, this is less than 25% of what caused the Great Quebec Blackout in 1989. Power outages are currently unlikely.

Gail, Milton made landfall last night
Here’s your sign…
Oh, I hope so! The May auroras visible here were amazing!
But that messing with the power grid, yeah, that’s not so good
Tired of waiting for randomly occurring auroras?
Try auroras on demand!
Too cool!!!

We couldn’t see anything here in SE Wisconsin – too much light and we didn’t want to take a drive to where it’s darker, but friends along the lake shore in Illinois have been posting some great pictures. I’ll be in Kentucky tonight, so farther south, but darker skies.
This was what I saw in Aurora (heh) last night just before midnight. It was quite visible even with the always-on glow from Chicago. Neighbor’s tree spoiling the view.
I wasn’t able to drive to a better dark location.
