I like that safety feature of the piece retracts if you take your foot off. No metal shark-fin induced lawsuits coming.
They had one of these in New Westminster BC in Canada. Out of service for some time now though.
I cannot find anything about it on the interwebs. I will try to visit it and take photos if I can remember where it was.
Simple, effective.
If this was in the United States, the city would charge you $5.00 per ride up the hill, it would be fully A.I. ‘enhanced’, cops would give you a citation for “not being fully in control of your ‘vehicle’”, and a whole other bunch of bullshit to make it “better” for the city and users.
Either that or they would offer something similar only for truck drivers to save their precious pickups actually having to do any work.
New West has some really steep hills so this would make total sense. Please post if you find something as I’ve never heard about this!
