Pat Nixon wielding an “atomic wand” to start the keel laying ceremony:
Slightly radioactive, it would register on a Geiger counter, which in turn would signal a crane operator to swing in the first component.
As far as I know, President Eisenhower had used the wand before to start another “Atoms for Peace” project, but so far I couldn’t find any pictures of it.
Too bad that SMRs outside naval applications are still pretty much in the vapourware stage of development.

My little black cat arrived as a stray, shaggy from living outdoors, 6 weeks old at most, on my doorstep on a snowy November day. Moved by her plight and immediately stricken by her cuteness, we took her in. By the end of the first day, she had figured out how to navigate the entirely new environment of our bedroom, climb onto the big comfy bed, and leap off onto the carpet below, all for fun.
It did this with a bit of evolutionary programming, running on a brain the size of an almond consuming at most ~5W of power.
When you tell me you need a nuclear power plant to run your AI, one arguably dumber than my kitten, I say “you are using the wrong algorithm”.
Or rather, “no way in h**l you’re using the right algorithm if it is consuming resources like that”.
The kitten has gone on to master the local environment and learn to use at least 3 words, correctly and in context (“hello”, “in or out”, and “dinner”, clearly her pronunciation is poor, but her inflection is perfect, and that last one she used yesterday by coming up to my office to tell me my dinner was ready).
I’ll admit to cooling on the idea of more power, but resurrecting TMI to power “AI” is madness.
