Amen. City sponsored broadband might light a fire under the lackadaisical and poor cable ISPs. When, that is, the cable monopolies can be convinced to knock off the lawsuits for invading their fiefdom.

Excited to say I’m part of this - just waiting for final building approval to install a node in my building which would extend service to many other in my neighborhood who can totally afford to pay Spectrum’s ridiculous fees, but can instead help create a municipal network that helps all NYC.
