But is it frictionless?

Tropicana is also trying to build a casino in Chicago and is rumored to be over extended, so maybe it’s for sale. Not to mention the political hassle of subsidizing another billionaire owner, not to mention all the pissed off Oakland fans. I was screwed over by the Raiders moving to Vegas and now the A’s Screw 'em all.

The best roast of the stadium design I’ve seen is
“When you order the Sydney Opera House from Wish.”

Removing almost half the seating?

Great drawing, but if you could see inside it, you could film what’s inside it. If you could film what’s inside it, you could put it on the internet. No event would ever allow that, so expect it to become mirrored or opaque glass, and actually look much more like a curved lump of rock.

I actually like this design, although I’ve seen it called “What you get when you order your Sydney Opera House from Wish.”, which isn’t quite wrong.

BIGs stuff is like this. It looks cool in the renders and presentations but usually fall flat in reality. Got to hand it to Bjarke Ingels though, he is one of the greatest salesmen in architecture.

If you want an armadillo, you’ve got to do it properly:

The seating in the drawing makes it look like they’ve built the dome over a cruise ship.

And then charging double* for the remaining seats. It’s the Vegas way.

I like the design concept, but like the Sphere and the Strip’s F1 grandstands it’s intended to be a venue for rich people.

and is a “spherical armadillo,” which would be an excellent band name.

Spherical Armadillo is the name of my…

I’m a lifelong A’s fan and I attended many a home game during their steroid-fueled heyday of the late 80s and early 90s. Growing up, the Raiders were always the traitorous team that left for LA and after they came back I never stopped preferring the 49ers. It seemed that when the Raiders jumped ship yet again (no pun intended) it was typical Raiders money grabbing bullshit.

With the Raiders, A’s, and Warriors all gone Oakland is now without a major pro sports team. It’s a goddamn shame. That’s some proud sportsball legacy there.

A spherical armadillo is just the normal kind when it doesn’t want to deal with you.
