If the Catholics wanted to do something about their waning membership numbers they could always start offering acid-laced communion wafers to all the congregants who put a little extra in the collection basket.
The less people fall into the trappings of churches the better off they’ll be. That said this other church seems pretty groovy, i’m assuming the amounts handed out are relatively small
I don’t disagree, but I also don’t think that’s possible. Identifying something as sacred, and creating a community or fellowship around it, seems to be deeply ingrained in what it means to be human. Not all of us do it, but enough of us do to make it seem genetically pre-disposed.
