Ooh, the backstory and mythology built into Mad Sweeney… American Gods is worth the price of admission just for him. I could talk to you about that all day long.
You know what’s missing an epic series of movies? The Táin Bó Cuailgne. Or the saga of Fionn mac Cumhail. I’d even take a telling of the rise of Niall Naoigiallach or of Brían Borumha. Irish myth and history is a largely untapped resource of story.
