Odd Stuff (Part 2)

I was cleaning out the basement last weekend, and in the random box of childhood stuff, like an old jewelry box and a bronze unicorn, I found this roll of bills in with a sweater knitted by my maternal grandmother (RIP). I’m guessing maybe it was a souvenir my grandfather brought back from WWII, maybe? Anyone have any ideas?
