Lost Bitcoin

Finnish customs did not manage to time its sale of Bitcoin to coincide with the cryptocurrency’s all-time high this spring, according to business daily Kauppalehti.

Earlier this year customs said it was planning to sell confiscated bitcoin after deliberating what to do with an estimated 1,981 in bitcoin, mostly seized in connection with narcotic investigations.

The paper notes that during April’s peak price of some 52,700 euros per Bitcoin, Customs’ holdings were worth 104 million euros, but have since dropped to around 60 million euros.
