Bandcamp lets artists set arbitrary prices for their music, so naturally there are a bunch of metal bands releasing stuff for 6.66 in whatever currency. Iāve bought at least a couple of those, but Iāve never paid that exact price because VAT is added on top. So I guess I am fighting Satan with taxes.

This is how goods are priced everywhere here.
You should see a hotel bill. In addition to the room fee youāll see county tax, state tax, resort fees, etc. A $100 hotel bill can easily hit $160

You see, taxes are bad, so great effort is made to minimize income tax and real estate tax, but since money must be raised for all the goods and services the various levels of government provides, regressive taxes such as sales tax are bumped up instead.
So yeah, it kind of is a right-wing thing.
