The system worked
Yes! and that’s fanTAStic! Moldy weed is wretched, horrible stuff which no one should ever experience.
Some interesting bits from Thirty-Four Footnotes for an Autobiography by CL Edson:
Delightful! I’ve never seen any of this before, and was so pleased to learn that it was in fact exactly what I hoped it was - an article of just the footnotes, without the autobiography itself!
Wonderful. I was able to find the whole thing online - along with all the rest of volume 69 of The Smart Set (which, oddly, was also the name of my friend Cameron’s band). I’m assuming this is what you are screen capping from.
I’m pretty sure it’s all satirical…but it’s hard to tell in things like the cover article about why Japan should take over the United States. Pretty sure it’s satire though.
34 footnotes is on page 109, not 103 as their table of contents indicates (they are not counting the ads up front)
I can recall neither how nor where I came upon that marvelous article.
Some of it is Absolutely Wonderful!
ETA: Thanks for posting the magazine!!!
I bought my brother a bullet from here https://bulletwithyournameon.com about two decades ago.
The link currently isn’t working, as the host is emigrating.
He shows up in my house and asks Jesus to send me away? That is the definition of colonialism right there!

I wonder how it looks in Lynx?
Apparently published in 1926, and based on the cars available then and the lack of interstate highways, the 100+ mile trip between Mishawaka (near South Bend) and Chicago would have been effectively a day’s journey each way!
Of course, they would probably have taken the South Shore Line (still in use; currently the last all-electric interurban train route in the country) which would have whittled it down to about 3 hours each way.
It’s quite likely he’s pulling our legs, but technically it is within the realm of possibility.
