It’s from when he gets married the first time in Season 3 to his hometown sweetheart Laverne. Fr. Mulcahy officiates over shortwave radio.

They eventually divorce in Season 6. He marries a second time in Season 11 to a South Korean. The circumstances behind that marriage cause one of the series’ biggest ironies in that the person who spends the entire show trying to get out of Korea by any means possible ends up being the only one to stay behind after the war ends.

(Yes, I’ve clearly watched that show too many times. :smiley:)
