Maybe it’s just me, but I never considered Scrabble scoring all that complex.
Hmmm… Maybe the backlash against the safety measures of the actual recent pandemic was in part driven by pissed off parents tired of the game?
Scrabble always seemed less combative in our family (compared to Monopoly or Mousetrap), but I have been party to some tremendous arguments in another family (with its own additional “rules”).
I think that probably refers to the tactics of using triple word scores etc.
