Off-duty cop drags kid into his yard, draws and fires gun

Typically police are required to present identification and give you their badge number (may vary by jurisdiction) but if someone even says their a cop, your first reaction should be to stop any aggression or resistance. Any action after that could be considered APO or failure to obey.

  1. Fire him.
  2. Cancel his pension, just re-absorb it back into the fund.
  3. Give him a lifetime firearm ban, and also a ban on all security work if it’s still even possible with the firearm ban.

What is “hell no in a thousand years?” Alex
Sorry, some jackbooted asshole with rage issues who claims to be a cop and wants to assault anyone does not get a free pass. Fuck that.

I’d say the kid’s friends were pretty restrained actually. If some creep was dragging around my friend I’d feel bad if I just stood around and did nothing.

I gotta say, the kid’s got some balls. At thirteen, I was a quivering mass of Jell-O.

At this point in my life, I treat police like I would treat a large, unpredictable, unchained predatory animal. They are never there to help you. Your life and future is in the hands of men who sought out this position and tolerate the criminality and abuse, if they don’t personally participate themselves. You may encounter individual cops that seem decent, but the institution itself is now beligerently adversarial.

I don’t disagree.

But in this case, the officer, who may or may not have identified himself was absolutely in the wrong as an adult and an officer. Yet, upon the arrival of on duty authorities, the minors were arrested and charged on site. I suspect that their story was not even heard by the arriving on-duty officers. If the off-duty officer had been a civilian, the kids might still have been charged, but he certainly would have been as well. And that was the point I was trying to make above.

Edit: hasty fingers

Kid and his family has probably been harassed by cops for his whole life. You can’t keep that inside forever.

Slow your roll, internet tough guy. You might be trying to sound like a cop, but you’re coming across more like a cop/gun/power fanboy to me.

This, exactly. And there’s no question the SIDEWALK is public property. So this adult physically pulled a child off of public property onto his private property. We see that in both videos quite clearly.

This is even scarier…the cop is using his official voice throughout, as if what he’s doing is completely reasonable. And yet he doesn’t identify himself as a cop.
And I agree with you about the castle doctrine thing after watching this; the guy clearly has a plan as he slowly drags the kid, foot by foot, towards his own property.

Exactly. If he was smart (clearly he isn’t) he would have pulled out his phone and called one of his cop buddies right away*. Subdued the kid in that exact spot and waited for back up. But no, he continues to drag the kid back to his property so he could have legal protection to abduct/abuse/hurt this minor.

*(oh he had his gun but didnt have his phone? bullshit. and if so, what a sad state this man-child lives in that he has to be armed at all times)

Or to frame it as it would be seen without the automatic white cop defense filter, a grown man was kidnapping a child and when someone tried to stop him he pulled his gun and fired.

That was my prime take away watching this on the news…
Cops need to learn how to de-escalate rather than have one mode only; “Respect my Authoriteh!!!”

So I kinda wonder if I can guess who this bloated toad cop voted for and …do they clone these fuckers cause they all look like 40-something skinheads with giant entitlement issues?

This whole situation is disgusting… all those cameras in use, and they’re all vertical. When will we ever learn?

Plus, if I took someone’s backpack and refused to give it back, that’s robbery. There is so much that is so unacceptable for a citizen to do given the side-by-side. There’s assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, battery, attempted kidnapping. At least.

And what irks me to near apoplexy – even if this happy asshole loses his job (which should be a bare minimum), either another city will hire his ass or there’s a very good chance he’ll end up getting paid more in private security.

Clearly the kind of level headed mature individuals the boys in blue are known for. I’m so happy we have police that know how to de-escalate conflicts with school children instead of getting into a cussing/shoving match like schoolyard bullies. BRAVO
