Yeah, I think that big of a CG effect works much better if it’s used very sparingly. Have him only physically arrive to take over the Death Star at the end. That’s why the 5 seconds of Leia at the end worked better for me, even though it was arguably a less-polished effect.

I was OK with that, but If they try to replace Carrie Fisher with a CG character in Episode IX we riot.

For real. I’d have loved to see what they had planned for her part in that, but not in CG.

Or considering Rogue One, replace Ewan McGregor in I-III with an unconvincing and jarring CGI Alec Guinness.
