I’ll continue with the over-thinking. They live pretty far out of town and it’s obviously just the local repeater he had set up to ensure he didn’t miss the warning. (And it also looks like a pretty ineffective shelter)

I don’t have a bunker, a gun, or a family, and yet, this hit strangely close to home.
So, yes to distrusting the siren’s song then? We keep getting conflicting instructions on this one.
