Ongoing coronavirus happenings

If “I just don’t know” is the best answer, it should probably be the answer. Way too many people don’t understand or accept this.

Yeah, as I said I can guess what they’re saying, but “inability to be aroused” is not the same thing as “inability to arouse”. I know we don’t have an official language in the US, but I kind of think that the primary government source of emergency medical information should be in plain English.

If you have newspaper AND a conveniently-placed garbage bin to put it in afterward!

Thank God all that reaching out across the aisle worked. At least in the middle of a pandemic hard-working Americans can get paid sick leave.

Wait, scratch that. The Democrats caved as usual. But that 50 billion we’re giving to the airline industry will trickle down any day now.

The measure was announced on Wednesday by Governor João Doria, who also informed that the closure will be maintained until April 30.

Need a gif of Obama holding up a DJT-signed paper with the DOW on it… And then flicking it to the ground in disgust. “This is why we can’t have nice things. Thanks, Donald.”

Bastards!

Believe it or not, as we are dealing with this, we also have pertussis cases in Augusta County, right next door. At the same time getting babies in for their shots is getting increasingly dicey. Just amazing times.

#flattenthecurve

the message hopefully that everyone is getting is not that they won’t get sick, but that we won’t – can’t, if we want to get through this as safely as possible – all get sick at the same time

nothing makes me more sad(*) than our total lack of community wi-fi and neighborhood associations running their own drop in and go social software.

it’s just somehow wrong, that with all the promise of the open internet, with all the community minded and anarchist software developers out there… what people actually have available to use, and are using, is “nextdoor”

(*) okay, lots of things make me more sad. but capitalism winning for no good reason is one that’s up there.

I wish. Nextdoor’s site really sucks. They break my First Rule of websites: Never Ever Fuck With My Back Button!

Oh, I’ll probably put up an open wifi access point with a good range antenna anyway.
