In BC, there have been power outages, but that’s due to the windstorms. It would be concerning if some critical mass of maintenance staff were to fall ill, and things wouldn’t get fixed, but we’re not there (yet).

Well, back in the day before chickenpox vaccine, that approach kinda made sense. You were likely to get chickenpox sooner or later, and since it’s way nastier for adults than children, getting it sooner was generally the safer way. This, of course, went out of the window the moment chickenpox vaccine became available.
And coronavirus sure as hell is not chickenpox.

Even in the beginning of the vaccine, they believed it only worked for 5 years at a time, so some doctors were still saying that getting the disease would provide greater immunity. That advice changed between my first and second child.
