Only three people in the world travel passport-free

They will never get to experience the joy of filling up a passport with stamps and visas in their name.

Trump didn’t declare war on another country. Nor can the King without approval. The King has no functional day to day rule over the executive branch- The President? Quite different.

He’d be thrown in the Tower after a good thrashing.

Um… no one said that, especially those of us with some working knowledge of the history… Many of us here have been warning about this for a long time now. So, maybe tone down the condescension there?

Dikko affair - Wikipedia.

The Dikko affair was a joint Nigerian-Israeli attempt to kidnap Umaru Dikko, a former Nigerian civilian government minister living in the United Kingdom, in 1984, and secretly transport him back to Nigeria in a diplomatic bag. The kidnapping took place, but the transportation thereof was unsuccessful.

ALL international law is basically just a set of agreements that boil down to “Don’t be an arsehole to us and we won’t be arseholes to you”.

So you do admit, you have a King you like lol

I would imagine also the fact that monarchs and heads of state step off their own planes on the tarmac onto a red carpet and then whisked away directly in a black cabriolet to diplomatic functions practically means they won’t be going through any immigration procedures that would necessitate a passport, even if you had one.

Passports are like the income tax - a “temporary measure” due to the exigencies of war. Woops, not so temporary!

Preventing people who haven’t done any harm from traveling freely is the most basic form of oppression, at least according to my grandfather.

Primarily I was referring to the kings of the British Empire, since Chuckie 3 was the one being currently discussed; but yes, monarchy in general is not all that ‘revered’ by many of the oppressed masses.

Ok, that is crazy. When I scroll the screen with that graphic, the ‘V’ seems to widen and narrow.

Haven’t had much sleep so could be hallucinating.

People grouped as a generic ‘those who like kings - regardless of location or background’ is a much more correct generalization I think than to speak for a specific group and claim they are 100% against something. I couldn’t put 10 people who agree on something in a room and get them to agree on what they claim they all agree on.

There are plenty of people on this earth that seem to like kings - I don’t even begin to presume to know the demographics of that group - I do know History tells us - that republics have gone back to kingdoms - several dozen times in recorded history - sometimes without a revolution. England itself has already made the switch back and forth in the past, it’s just silly to think it’s impossible to happen today - history repeats.
