“The Real Folk Blues!
本当の
悲しみが知りたいだけ。。。”

(I just want to know true sadness)

God I miss that show, I know the entire first verse in Japanese. The Seatbelts and Yoko Kanno made the best damn soundtrack ever, the music for that show is still a masterpiece.

“I think it’s time we blow this scene. Get everybody and their stuff together. Ok. 3, 2, 1. Let’s jam.”

And the flautist is kicking it.

It’s on streaming music services too:

Which is great because the original recording still isn’t!

This is really one of the best anime openings (for one of the best animes…)

It’s the best theme song for arguably one of the best Anime’s and this performance is for me the best thing to come out of quarantine. It truly made my day. Thank you for sharing.

Love the inclusion of shadow dancing.

Edit: Also totally forgot to point out that these two particular songs being redone in this manner is probably a subtle bit of marketing for the upcoming Netflix Live-Action version of the anime series, despite production being delayed.

I am fairly certain that the shadow dancer is ms Yoko Kanno herself (based on the location shot and her appearances in the other Seatbelts Session vids.

Quite pleased to read that the rumours of Ein being replaced with a husky have been greatly exaggerated.
