I have been without glasses for the last 20 years. Had to start wearing some again just this year. My shortsightedness nearly went away, but now I’m getting far sighted! So: what dioptric value do these have?

Just so I know if I would be tempted.

But how did they get to the bin?

Surprised that a member of this did not bid to win.
Some of those guys are very committed. And those specs sound like they were likely to be of real interest. I wonder whether the local NZ auctioneer advertised overseas?
Though there is a link on the NZ site to a Christie’s auction in NY where prices were much less - but that was 15 years ago

Lose a lens, x-ray vision stops working. Might as well bin 'em.

When I was quite young, my optometrist told me that my eyesight was going to get progressively worst (I’m severely nearsighted; like 220/20) until I was, say 26. Then it would get slightly better as I aged, but only slightly. Right on all counts. Your eyeballs age just like you do.
