Party is over for bankrupt Tupperware

Do tomato sauce stains count as “patina”?

At least around here, they started doing that a few months ago.

Hopefully they do that around me. In Hispanic community in my area, there’s any number of MLM people as they tell these poor suckers that they’ll live the high life by selling their pots/pans/knives/cleaning products/etc. We have picked up some Tupperware recently though and it’s still good stuff.

Sometimes I like to imagine winning the lottery and then somehow using the money to completely bury that company and then scattering the proverbial ashes to the four winds that it may never rise again … but eh, something else will probably just crop up to fill the vacuum. (Same goes for Herbalife.)

Yep, it’s a quality product, but there’s no denying Glad’s big selling point that Tupperware is also freakin’ expensive and you’re not going to like having to replace it if you lose it.

They forgot to ‘burp’ it after closing the lid.

Some of the older tupperware lids have a tendancy to get sticky, which is unfortunate. My mother had a bunch of bowls from when she sold it back in the 70’s / 80’s, and it still works well.

My pyrex storage containers more or less work, but I have also run into the issue where the lids tend to crack over repeated use, which is annoying; It’s possible to get replacement lids from the usual scumbags, as long as you know the part number. (i.e., don’t toss the broken one until you get a chance to order it’s replacement)

My mom was a Tupperware addict (I joke, maybe “enthusiast” is a better word). I recall her attending Tupperware parties on the reg in the late 70s. Upside is, I still have a few choice items that still work.

Did you have the orange peeler? That was the bomb. Best thing to come out of the 70’s.
