It’s odd that that his “middle finger” didn’t take the form of, say, not going at all.
Even so, Devo-esque formal wear does rock.
Sometimes protest is denying a platform and sometimes it is taking the platform you have and saying “fuck you!” to TPTB.
I think this was the more effective way to get people talking about how maybe we shouldn’t honor assholes. Even dead assholes who owned pretty cats

I don’t know. For me, Karl Lagerfeld - at least his public persona - always seemed to be a very careful thought out concept. Or as the kids say, a brand.
He was certainly at the forefront of sketchy old white guys wearing orange pancake makeup.
