my local UHF station aired this one afternoon circa 1990. I couldn’t believe something this cool was just randomly on the Nashville airwaves. despite being a Hartman fan at the time, I didn’t realize he was the narrator. great stuff.
Funny, but any mention of Tony Hawk reminds me of the first time I heard of him. A girl I knew in high school, a skater herself, wrote him a fan letter. He replied and said he was glad she was skating and that he hoped more women would because it was a sport that should be open and welcoming to everyone.
My memory’s a tad hazy but this would have been '86 or '87.
and notice, all those kids are wearing helmets and pads. they knew the score.
