Neither did Heffner or Cosby. Or many other rapists. Rape isn’t about a lack of sex from willing partners or sexual frustration. People (mostly men) rape because they like to force other people to do what they want. The part about rape being nonconsensual is the part they like the most.

Some of the most prominent male porn stars out there turned out to be serial rapists and they had sex with women for a living.
I very much hope Shel Silverstein wasn’t a huge scumbag like some of the people he hung out with but it’s certainly possible.

I vaguely remember at the time of his death, there were folks calling out that he was a predatory piece of shit, but those folks were women, so their accounts weren’t centered or considered seriously.
