From my reading of the letters being exchanged, it appears we’ve got some rot in the legal community as well. Did Counselor Petruska actually read KMOV counsel’s letter? Because her reply was basically an all-caps rendition of “give it back now give it back now give it back now or we’ll come and get it”, with little exposition given to the actual legal basis of KMOV’s holding the image other than a touch of handwaving and then back to demanding the photo.

Sidenote: “murder by deliberate forced overdose” is not an unknown thing amongst junkie communities, nor is it unknown for bent coppers to be the ones administering the overdose.
Probably not what happened here, but it’s not outside the realm of possibilities.
