In the first Muppet Show cast, most of the band members are caricatures of contemporary (at the time) musicians. Janice = Joni Mitchell, Dr Teeth = Dr John. Zoot the sax player = Blue Lou Marini.
I’m not sure, but Animal looks like Keith Moon to me. Or pretty much 90% of drummers in the 1970s, really…
