There are some of these creatures lurking in my momÂŽs backyard. The first time I saw one of them, It was perfectly standing still, sitting on the top of the backyardÂŽs wall. At first I thought it was a pretty ugly cat. But finally I saw the gambĂĄ that was terrorizing the neighbourhood. I tried to take a picture, but I think I scared it when I fell from the chair that I was trying to use to reach the wall.
Soe weeks after this episode, I heard a noise in the backyard and went to see what was going on. I was really scared when I looked at the tree and suddenly it looked back at me! There was an opossum trying to camouflage itself among the leaves of the star fruit tree.

Awww ⊠come on! Look at those beady little eyes. Its ears arenât even ragged yet. Not in the photo, but their front paws look like stars because their toes are arrayed all around the center pad. And they eat ticks! After picking over a dozen lone star ticks (ick ick ick) off my old pupper after he escaped the yard and spent the night in the woods around our hill, Iâm all for letting these beasties dine in my yard at night.
