Ratel is right. It is a marmoset, mico, miquinho or sagüi. These primates are omnipresent in Rio.
I went with a neighbor when she adopted a cat she had seen in the local newspaper this past Saturday.
This is one very sad cat. His owner had to give him and his brother up and the brother was found to have a serious heart problem and died soon after. He took to a kennel at the shelter and did not want to move or come out at all.
I’ve been sitting with him (and gently grooming) for the past two days. He’s looking better and eating a little, but does not want to leave his box yet—the box being a better place for him than hiding under the couch.
Oh, did I mention he’s a chonk! Eighteen pounds and ten years old! I’m in love.
He’s a gorgeous dude! I’m so glad that he found a new family and a new friend!
I have one word for you: feliway.
We ended up with just one cat, after having 3. It was Derpasurus who ended up alone. We picked up 2 kittens after a month of him getting weird from grieving to help him recover. It took him about 4 years to really learn how to cat again.
[What a handsome fellow you’ve got there!]
I’m going to have to get an anonymous YouTube account so that I can post videos here. Anyway, a Coopers Hawk has just claimed our yard as part of his demesne.
Mine!
MINE!
Never heard of that before. Thanks for the tip!
Not particularly cheap, but will help yon furball relax a bit. Always a good thing to have on hand when you move house, bring new people or critters into the household, or if you move furniture frequently (lookin’ at Mr. Kidd sideways).
Just a cute owl (not by me).
No, sir, that is a superb owl.
It’s either spying your kitties or your tortoise?
Am I wrong to think you should have a basset hound so that the floppy ears would match with Lester?
OMG, they are friends! So cute!
I don’t think he’s much impressed by either.
Thank Dog for Swedish K-mart!
(Saved our butts when Jr. Kidd was wee.)
The mat is Swedish K-Mart, but the train is actual Brio (thanks grandparents!)
Sweet! Brio will survive serious little kid beating.
My daughters had a similar train set, given to us by a family whose sons had outgrown them, and when they in turn outgrew it we gifted the set to yet another family with young children. Those things are indestructible!
