Uhu, seen the layer of woolen blankets?
My only problem now is when the rest of the peeps are going to question if it’s the cat or me who is not really into leaving the warm nest.
(but the ‘is the stove not burning?’ question is fallen). Darn
This is Katy. The T-shirt is because I need something to pin her diaper to so she can’t wriggle out of it, and the diaper is because she’s 19 and apparently that’s too old to care about where she pees anymore.
We finally put our just-shy-of-19 boy down (Pablo). He had the same issue, so we had rewashable pads every where he’d hang out. We were fine with this, but it got to the point in which he had a hard time walking as he was struggling with both front legs (recent tumor on left front elbow, hyperflexed right front paw) and then his back right leg gave out.
He will be missed.
His roommate, Sachi, is still with us and is exactly the same age as @Lucy_Gothro’s kitty.
Sachi spent the first 10 years under our bed because our lovely female (Paoli) must have gave him the evil stink eye. (Was the only kitty of ours not bothered by our pit bull, but scared of every thing and everyone else.)
We waited patiently and now he’s a big love bug!
Awwww. Katy is on thyroid medication and has some arthritis in her hips, but she’s still fairly sparky for all that.
Sachi looks like a talker
Yes, he is. It’s like he saved up all his chatter for 10 years and then let us have it. From what I understand, people actually want to adopt Siamese-types for this reason. Anyway, he’s rather respectful of our nights and early mornings.
Our standard seal-point barely ever makes noise - won’t even purr out loud. Our flame-point is a bit more vocal, but not randomly so, just purrs loud and sometimes coos when you pet her.
Expected mouthy cats, got crickets.
I went on a short trip for work, and while I was gone Manny Pearl grew a bunch and learned to climb. This is on top of my roll top desk. Equal parts naughty and cute, which is the Platonic ideal for kittens as far as I am concerned.
You kids and your face swapping shenanigans!
I liked that but am equally horrified by it.
If you superimpose that with the one that gives you a ridiculously long dog tongue when you open your mouth, your selfie could become even more creepy!
Manny tried going outside today. He was scared at first but then he got brave and I had to chase him so he wouldn’t escape into the neighbouring field. Dude is fast.
Love the well-positioned carpeted perch!
The yellow-headed herons that nest on or near our property every year have returned and are building their new nest.
my neighborhood has a heron. there’s 3 marshy ponds within a half mile here, one directly across the street. somehow the only pic I have is this crappy night shot
When I first read this, I thought you wrote “heroin.” So I thought, “Hmm. Black Tar Heroin is really black.”
I think that is pretty badass, actually. Would make a pretty fabric.
Our herons make a uniquely unpleasant noise that makes the cawing of the crows sound melodious. Still, it feels special to have them nesting at our house.
